Wednesday Evening Zazen Online

Wednesday Evening
Zazen Online

Wednesdays,
7–9 pm EDT

Cost: Free

Ocean Mind Sangha is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit religious organization. Your donation is tax deductible to the extent allowed by applicable law.

Welcome to the Ocean Mind Sangha, our online community of Zen Buddhist practitioners. Join us for our weekly Wednesday night sessions, and visit the OMS calendar to view all our events.

After sitting on Wednesdays, OMS Guiding Teacher Zuisei offers a dharma talk or leads the study of a Buddhist text. On the first Wednesday of the month, Zuisei offers an introductory talk on zazen (silent meditation), or a specific Buddhist teaching and its application in daily life.

Our schedule is as follows:

6:50 pm Online zendo opens
7:05 pm Beginning of zazen (& optional meditation instruction)
8:00 pm End of zazen; break
8:05 pm Dharma talk or study
9:00 pm Closing chant

If you’ve been sitting for a while and want to deepen your meditation practice, our Wednesday sits are perfect. We sit for an hour, but you’re welcome to join partway (just make sure to register before the event starts; the link disappears once we’ve begun). You can also take a break in the middle of zazen, or do some standing or walking meditation.

If you’re new to Zen meditation or the Ocean Mind Sangha, please let Zuisei know so she can plan to give you beginning instruction in zazen and an orientation to our program. At the end of the evening we’ll chant the Four Bodhisattva Vows before closing.

This event is offered freely and donations are deeply appreciated. Please know that your generous dana supports Zuisei’s work and the operations of the Ocean Mind Sangha, a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation.

We look forward to sitting with you.
